The University Press Week logo was designed in 2012 by Tom Eykemans, then at the University of Washington Press.
The UP Week Task Force selected this image from a competitive process because it combined a simplicity of line with a blooming of meaning—one member of the selection panel saw a sheaf of grain feeding our minds, others saw birds taking flight, another described the way each stylized page-spread built upon the one before, like so much of the scholarship university presses publish.
The logo fonts are san serif Avenir (black) and serif Goudy (OFL Sorts Mill italic).
